Warning to every Santander banking customer with major branch closures this month

Santander has announced it will close 24 branches in June, meaning millions of customers will be affected by the move - here is the list of all the branches closing

Santander account holders throughout England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland are being warned of forthcoming bank branch closures this month. A total of 24 Santander outlets are due to shutter in June, prompting a warning for the millions who bank with the institution.

In response to evolving customer banking habits, Santander has revealed it will terminate services at 95 locations during this year. An official from Santander UK expressed their perspective on the matter: "As customer behaviour changes, we are ensuring that our branches remain fit for the future."

The firm plans to strike a balance between the current digital banking trends and the demand for traditional, in-person financial guidance, reports Birmingham Live.

The spokesperson added: "Our new combination of full-service branches, alongside work cafes, counter-free branches and reduced hours branches, aims to provide the right balance between digital banking and face-to-face money management and guidance.

"Closing a branch is always a very difficult decision and we spend a great deal of time assessing where and when we do this and how to minimise the impact it may have on our customers."
