KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WVLT) - After losing the doubles point to Duke to begin the day, Tennessee trailed 3-0 in Sunday’s second-round NCAA Tournament match.

Three consecutive wins sent the game to a deciding seventh match, where Alex Kotzen trailed Duke’s Pedro Rodenas 5-0.

Then, Kotzen pulled off one of the great moments in Tennessee tennis history, winning seven consecutive games to punch Tennessee’s ticket to the Sweet 16.

Ian Cruz, Shunsuke Mitsui, and Jan Kobierski also earned singles points for the Volunteers.

Tennessee will face 3-seed Texas in Austin in the Sweet 16. It’s the sixth straight season Tennessee has advanced to a Super Regional.
