Cardae Mack, a four-star athlete from Texas, committed to Arizona State football on Sunday after a visit during Friday night’s Fan Fest.

Mack played both quarterback and running back at Humble (Texas) Atascocita High, racking up 1,864 yards and 18 touchdowns (three interceptions) through the air with 1,918 yards and 22 touchdowns on the ground.

Mack is the No. 376 prospect and No. 27 running back in the 2026 class, according to the On3 Industry Ranking.

In addition to visiting Arizona State over the weekend, his previous stops included SMU and Ole Miss in addition to Big 12 foes Houston and Texas Tech.

He cited the lineage of backs the ASU coaching staff has sent to the NFL when detailing his choice to Sun Devil Source’s Chris Karpman.

Cam Skattebo became a fourth-round pick under position coach Shaun Aguano’s tutelage. Previous pros to come through his room include Eno Benjamin (2020 seventh-rounder) and Rachaad White (2022 third-rounder).

Arizona State’s RB outlook around Cardae Mack

Aguano’s room appears to be in great shape coming off losing Skattebo. Kyson Brown, Kanye Udoh and Raleek Brown look like a defined top-three rotation.

High-upside backs Jason Brown Jr. (redshirt freshman) and Demarius Robinson (true freshman) round out the depth after Alton McCaskill transferred to Sam Houston State.

None of these backs will be out of eligibility entering what will be Mack’s true freshman season. The room could find itself in another competitive situation where someone gets squeezed out into the portal, as McCaskill did this spring.
