Philadelphia Eagles trade away star Super Bowl champion safety in shock development after brutal Travis Kelce remarks

THE Philadelphia Eagles stunningly traded a key piece to their 2024-25 Super Bowl-winning team on Tuesday.
The Eagles sent away an NFL star defender who sent an NSFW message to Kansas City Chiefs star tight end Travis Kelce and his girlfriend, Taylor Swift.
It was reported by ESPN that the Eagles traded safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson to the Houston Texans in exchange for former first-round offensive lineman Kenyton Green.
The Eagles will also obtain a 2026 fifth-round pick, and the Texans, who won the AFC South division in 2024, will also receive a 2026 sixth-rounder.
Gardner-Johnson won his first Super Bowl with Philadelphia in February when they blasted the Chiefs by a score of 40-22.
However, the 27-year-old was hit with criticisms after the showdown when he shared a vulgar message to Kelce and his personal life.
On his Instagram story, Gardner-Johnson posted a picture of himself and Kelce from the game along with the caption, "Should've Stay w that thick s***", seemingly suggesting the three-time Super Bowl champion shouldn't have left his ex-girlfriend Kayla Nicole.
Kelce dated social media influencer Nicole for five years before the two broke things off in 2022.
The 35-year-old has dated the music icon Swift since the fall of 2023.
Then, during the Eagles' Super Bowl parade, Gardner-Johnson wore a hoodie that read, "Swifties can LIX my balls - a reference to Super Bowl LIX.
Gardner-Johnson played with the Eagles in 2022 and 2024 in two separate stints.
He signed a three-year, $27 million deal with the team last March.
Known as a ball-hawk, Gardner-Johnson recorded six interceptions during his Philadelphia tenure.
Shortly after the trade, Gardner-Johnson sent a message to Eagles fans, sharing his "love" for the city.
"This decision wasn't mine, but I walk away proud of what we built together," Gardner-Johnson wrote.
"To my teammates: Brothers, we bled, cursed, and laughed through it all. To the coaches and front office: Thank you for trusting a kid from Florida with a chip on his shoulder to lead this defense.
"And to the Philly Faithful -- you're unmatched. You embraced my edge and fire, for this game even when I got too hot."
The Eagles did re-sign star linebacker Zach Baun to a three-year, $51 million deal.
However, the reigning Super Bowl champions will have a different defense in 2025.
Philly released secondary veterans Darius Slay and James Bradberry.
And they saw linebacker Josh Sweat sign a four-year deal worth $76.4 million with the Arizona Cardinals on Monday.
NFL free agency officially begins on Wednesday at 4:00 pm Eastern.
