ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Students participated in an annual drone competition hosted by Monroe Community College’s Engineering Science and Physics Department Friday.

Organizers tell News 8 the competition brought together college freshmen and sophomores from across the state to design, build, and pilot drones.

Department leaders say that the project is meant to simulate a rescue mission where human and aerial navigation is risky. They say the project helps students with their time management skills with getting projects done on a deadline.
